How Air-Con Works
Car air conditioning units cool and remove the humidity from the air. There are three main parts to the system, including:
Compressor
Condenser
Evaporator
Refrigerant goes through the compressor as a low-pressure gas and is compressed at a high pressure before entering the condenser. In the condenser, the refrigerant condenses into a high-pressure liquid, ready to cool the car.
Once the liquid is cold and at a low pressure, it enters the evaporator coil and removes heat from the air. A fan blows cool air into the car and the refrigerant goes back into the compressor and the process begins again.
